Whats On

Hazlemere Community Centre ARC_Wellbeing_event.jpg

On Wednesday 11th June - Highfield Surgery Patient Participation Group will be hosting a Wellness afternoon at the community centre from 1.30pm to 4.30pm. The focus is looking after your health and there will be stalls to chat and help boost your well being - there will be free taster sessions for chair pilates/yoga as well as free refreshments.  So why not call in to see if there is anything for you

On Monday 7th July at 7.30pm we will be hosting a information evening about emojis!   they seem quite simple and straight forward - but for many younger people they have hidden meanings, so whilst a pair of eyes may seem that someone is saying 'look at this'  it can also mean 'send nude photos'!  In a day and age where there is so much available it helps if parents and grandparents are aware - everyone is welcome.

Bingo Friday 13th June - eyes down 7.30pm  -  the Roll Over was won, well done that lady!  so its now £350  T&C apply Kids Bingo is back!

Polite Notice - Adults with responsibility for children (that is anyone under the age of 18 years old) are reminded that children MUST be supervised at all times - that includes during their 27 visits to the toilet.  In recent months a few children have been permitted by their responsible adult to continually cause disruption, damage and disturb other centre users & staff.  Basically the responsible adult allows the children to run loose around the centre, in and out of the premises and cause general disruption - no matter how many requests for this to be controlled.

Should this behaviour continue the community centre will have no choice but to consider cancelling childrens bingo or even refuse to allow children on site on bingo nights.

This is not an action we wish to take and these considerations are not being taken lightly HOWEVER the distruption and damage to the centre and the abuse of centre staff will not be tolerated.

Kelly is taking a break - for future bookings please telephone Kelly on 07738 884950 to book an appointment - Pensioner pricing - Mens dry cut £12, Womens dry cut £14, womens cut & blow dry £23

We are have a OneCanTrust collection basket in our foyer for anyone to drop off items they wish to donate

Recycling - Due to people continually using the recycle bins as general waste bins we have removed the recycling.

This decision has not been taken lightly however, given the amount of rubbish and time monitoring the bins is taking we have removed the boxes

Hand Sanitzers are located around the premises

Alvin is back!   with his unique tribute to the King!  Friday August 8th from 8pm - tickets are £12 when pre-booked or £15 on the door https://www.ticketsource.co.uk/hazlemere-community-association

Buckinghamshire Council have granted Asset of Community Value (ACV) status to Hazlemere Community Centre.  This is an important and valuable award as it highlights the very great need to protect properties & space that serve the community.

Community assets in neighbourhoods across the country have buildings and amenities that are at the heart of their community.  These assets could be a pub, a shop, a park, a community centre - what ever they are they often provide a base for public services to be delivered locally.  The closure or sale of such an asset can create lasting damage across the community and threaten local services.  This status ensures such properties remain a social hub for the community.

Sincere thanks to Cllr Steve Roy Cllr Catherine Oliver & Cllr Ed Gemmell who have been a huge support in this process.
